What are data residency requirements? How does the CKS enable customers to meet them?

Data residency requirements stipulate that a customer’s data must stay confined within a specific region or location. The CKS cannot restrict encrypted content from travelling throughout the world, but it can confine the keys needed to decrypt that content to any region or location that the customer chooses. For many governments and organizations, this method meets their data residency requirements because these keys remain on the customer’s premises – regardless of where the encrypted data travels.
