How is an encrypted email stored in Vault? How could I prove that a particular message / attachment was sent with Virtru encryption?
Google Vault stores encrypted emails as they are sent from a Virtru email client. Each email includes a series of search tokens that are used to represent each word in the encrypted message. Virtru’s Vault E-Discovery Support allows Google Apps administrators to find both encrypted and unencrypted messages using the same tokenization technique that enables the token-based search upon which most regular forms of email searching rely.An entity can prove which messages and attachments are sent with Virtru encryption simply by seeing if the content displays with Virtru styling – the same way they would prove this for content discovered within the inbox.
