Powering Warfighter Mission Advantage: Data Centricity, Zero Trust, and Mission Data Resilience

Data fuels decision and mission across the spectrum of military operations. Trusted, secure, and resilient data are essential to the Commander, the Warfighter, and those supporting the mission across all joint operational functions. This is core to attaining Decision Superiority in the Pacific or any other theater. From C2, to Intelligence, to Fires, and to Sustainment, Commanders, Warfighters, and mission support elements must be able to trust their data, share it with Allies and Mission Partners, and defend it when adversaries use cyber capabilities or other means to tamper with or deny it.

Legacy approaches were founded on perimeter defense and a network-centric model. Against a growing cyber threat, adversaries leveraging AI, and a pending Q-Day, this legacy approach is no longer sufficient or agile enough to meet mission demands. To solve this, Data Centric Security and a Zero Trust approach are essential to mission enablement to meet these threats.

Speakers will present the current State of the Union for Data Centric Security (DCS) and illustrate its foundational underpinning to Mission Partner Environments (MPE), sovereign cloud, edge and hybrid environments, sensitive mission, and AI use cases. They will discuss the importance of Zero Trust (ZT) open standards, and why Allied standards like ACP 240 and NATO ZTDF matter now.. The session closes with a survey of the DCS and ZT technology platform and ecosystem that government, military Commanders, and the Defense Industrial Base need to accelerate AI integration, provide information advantage, and achieve Allied interoperability.

Attendees will walk away with a working understanding of Zero Trust and Data Centric Security, and of why shifting a focus from perimeter-centric and network-centric to a data-centric approach is now essential to meeting mission demands.
