Whereas some organizations think about compliance as simply a list of checkboxes, the team at N2K thinks differently — which is why they use Virtru for secure Gmail encryption. In this video, CEO Peter Kilpe explains the difference between compliance for compliance's sake, and truly secure operations for protecting sensitive communications.

The difference between checking the box and having compliance, and actually being secure, can be very different things. You know, for us, our business lifeblood is trust. And, when we're going to work with a large company, like a public company, they want to know we're operating with standards. Not just so they check the box, but, you know, material things related to how they do business, innovations.

They might be working on their own go-to-market strategies and things like that. And they want to know that they're protected. I want to know that they're protected. You know, having the box checked actually means very little to us.

We have a strong security mindset, and we have infrastructure in place to protect ourselves.

You know, we don't fall under compliance regimes like a number of our customers do, but we have to work with those customers. And if we can't demonstrate that we have things in place, then we won't be able to get the business, that we want to do.

And I'm for one just glad that our customers can see day in and day out that we can work, you know, like they do.
