Email is a massive risk surface for organizations, regardless of whether they're global enterprises or small, mom-and-pop retail shops. Email remains the leading vector for cyber attacks and data loss.

In this video, N2K Networks CEO Peter Kilpe explains why email can be such a challenge for organizations to get right when it comes to security. The key is to make it simple, integrated, and effortless for the user.

Virtru makes data protection remarkably simple, with customizable email security features like sensitive content detection, expiration dates, and revocability. All of these features exist right within the email interface, so users don't have to deal with secondary inboxes, complicated portals, or new passwords.

It's actually very valuable to give a second thought to, 'What did I just send?' or 'What am I about to send?' and make sure that I'm good with it being in the clear or if I need to, you know, actually encrypt that message or set some security settings. People, I think, often don't think hard about the level of exposure they have with something as simple as email. It's extremely easy to just get in a pattern of, 'Well, I'm gonna email that,' or not guarding your communications or, like, guarding the language within your communications. Part of it is because it takes more effort, you know, more focus to be vigilant about security in those communications.

And it may take extra steps, you know, to be able to be secure using particular channels, using particular tools. It's just not that easy. And when you have something that's embedded with your email platform that is really almost transparent to the user, it just gives you a great degree of comfort, you know, that you're operating securely.
