WASHINGTON, December 14, 2020 – Virtru, a global leader in data protection and privacy, today announced the expansion of its longstanding partnership with Google Cloud to incorporate Virtru’s Trusted Data Platform into additional Google Workspace and Google Cloud applications and services. The combination will provide an added layer of verifiable trust, granular data control and privacy assurance for data shared, stored and analyzed in Google Cloud and Google Workspace, and, importantly, extending these control when data is shared outside the Google ecosystem.
In 2016, Virtru was chosen as a recommended encryption provider for G Suite, now known as Google Workspace, in what has been a hugely successful partnership that currently boasts more than 3,500 shared customers with usage more than doubling since the beginning of the pandemic. This expanded partnership will accelerate Virtru integrations into Google Cloud services and deepen data control and sovereignty capabilities in Google Workspace.
“Verizon’s mission is to transform how people connect with each other — our millions of customers, our 133,000 employees, and thousands of business partners. Embracing the cloud, and data protection, has been at the heart of this effort,” said Greg Sly, Senior Vice President Platforms and Infrastructure for Verizon. “Encryption and control capabilities were central to our decision to adopt G Suite (now Google Workspace) to increase productivity, employee engagement, and collaboration. In today’s working environment, secure collaboration has never been more important, and capabilities like those Virtru provides will enable us to further accelerate adoption of cutting-edge cloud applications and infrastructure while maintaining best-in-class data security and control.”
